Sotzai falls

They are located just 2 km from the hotel and are one of the most popular destinations for Hotel Orlando’s guests because, you can reach such an amazing place in a few minutes walk. In the middle of vegetation, you will see a waterfall of about 70 m in height, the penultimate vertical of the extraordinary “Bau e Vigu” canyon born in Santa Barbara forest that flows into the hydroelectric power plant of Flumendosa Lake.

Excursions by land rover, on foot, on horseback, by quad, by mountain bike and by the “Green Train”.

Every day expert guides (on reservation) leave from the hotel to accompany our guests to a few hours/ full day tours.
The surroundings are a wonderful opportunity for discovering unique landscapes of extraordinary beauty and the scent of aromatic herbs, typical of our mountains. Hikers may also quench their thirst at fresh springs and admire the beauty of flowering. In the valley you will find ancient folds; some of them are still in use.

Bicycles and mountain bikes

The Green Train

One of the most fascinating excursions is the one on board of the Green Train: thanks to the beautiful and ancient railway you will reach the heart of our Sardinia and visit some of the most amazing places, often so inaccessible and hidden, reachable only on foot and with great difficulty.

Archaeological routes

A dive into the ancient history of a territory, proof of extraordinary cultural heritage: the traces of the first human settlements in Ogliastra probably date back to the Neolithic age rich in “giants’ tombs”.

The archaeological complex” of “ S'Arcu e is Forros” in Villagrande Strisaili, “Scerì” in Ilbono and “S'Ortale 'e Monte” in Tortolì, contribute to increase our knowledge of Sardinian prehistory and protohistory about the material and architectural production.
